TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP
Did you know that:
It is a legal requirement that your equine is transferred into your ownership. This must be completed within 30 days of purchase. Failure to do so can lead to a Government fine of up to £5,000.
If a mare is not in your ownership at the time of foaling you cannot register the foal as the breeder,
If you are showing your animal and it is not in your name you will not be able to win any Society medals or awards.
If you are not legally recorded as the owner your public liability insurance may be invalidated if the animal is not recorded in your ownership. You could still be liable but have no insurance cover.
Please check all your passports to see that you are the registered owner of the animal and that it has been stamped by the Society. Filling in your name and address is not sufficient, it must be stamped and recorded by the WPCS as the passport issuing office.
The Society currently charges Members £15 to transfer an equine, and Non-members £25
From the 1st of August 2023 the service will cost Members £24 (Vat included) and Non – Members £36 (Vat included)
If you have animals to transfer – please do it now
