Society Officer roles announced

The Welsh Pony and Cob Society is delighted to announce that the new Chairman of Council is Mr Daniel Morgan.
Joining the Society in 1976, Daniel has been a serving member of Council at different times since 2002, following in the footsteps of his father Mr Sam Morgan, who was also a past President of the Society as was Daniel’s grandfather Mr D.O Morgan. The family have collectively bred Welsh Ponies of Cob Type and Welsh Cobs under the Parc and Ormond prefixes since 1919 to the present day.
Daniel Morgan said:
“I am very honoured to be charged with such a pivotal role within the Society; a society that has made me who I am today. I look forward to working closely with the Council of Trustees and the Office team to serve the membership and ensure that the Welsh Pony and Cob Society continues to flourish and develop as the largest Native Pony Society in the world.”
 
The new Vice Chair of Council is Mrs Sharon Charlton.
 
Sharon – originally from County Durham has been a member since 1980 and has bred sections A, B, C and D but is best known for her Joyton section C’s. Based in Carmarthenshire she has recently retired from her duties as an NHS Theatre nurse.
 
Mr Wyn Jones was re-elected for a second term as Chair of Finance and HR for the Society.
 
Wyn who is based in North Wales has had a lifetime’s involvement with the Welsh Mountain Pony, firstly working for the Coed Coch pony stud before establishing his own Nerwyn stud. Wyn’s professional career was in banking and finance working for many years at a high street bank and latterly for Conwy County Council.
 
The Society congratulates all three Trustees on their appointment.
