President’s Auction raises more than £10,000 for Tŷ Hafan

The donations total for the Welsh Pony and Cob Society (WPCS) retiring President Brian Foster, Gerrig Stud’s Charity Auction in aid of Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice is complete.
Brian Foster said ‘I am delighted to report the result of the fantastic amount raised at our recent timed on-line auction of 29 Lots donated by you the members and friends of the WPCS.
As I am sure you are aware this online Charity Auction became possible under the auspices of the WPCS with the Trustees approval, the tireless efforts to source various lots of Dr Glyn Jones Gwarchod Stud, and the professional support, without charge, of Richard Binnnersley joint MD of Brightwells together with input from the WPCS Office, and of course all of the donated 29 items together with the donors details listed in the auction catalogue.
I am extremely grateful to you all for your support.
The auction and the Just Giving page raised over £10,000.00 and the whole amount will be gifted to my nominated Charity, Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice, who will greatly benefit from this fantastic sum of money that we have all helped to raise during these uncertain times’.
Richard Binnersely stated ‘We at Brightwells were more than pleased to be asked to run this timed on-line Auction on behalf of retiring President of the WPCS –
The Key statistics for the Auction were.
• The catalogue was viewed 7089 times.
• At its peak on the Sunday evening 28 3 21 when the sale closed there were 1682 people live on the page
• 802 bids were placed on the Auction.
• There were 121 registered buyers from the UK, Netherlands and Spain with the Catalogue Viewed by 3819 persons.’
Brian Foster Retiring President of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society said:
‘What a fabulous and fantastic result. I will be forever grateful to you all in making this an event to remember in these uncertain and difficult times’.
On behalf of the Council of Trustees, WPCS Chairman Colin Thomas said:
‘I feel ever so grateful to the President for choosing such a worthwhile charity and cause.
The importance of our President’s fund raising can be summed up by this commentary. “Tŷ Hafan. offers comfort, care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families, helping them make the most of the time they have left together. To offer this unique service completely free of charge to families in Wales, please note it has to raise £4.5 million every year.”
