Mr A.R Bowen -Rhydgwillim
The Society is sad to share with its members the news of Mr A.R Bowen’s passing. He had not been in the best of health for some time, but thankfully he had recently returned home after a long period in hospital .
Reg adored his Rhydgwillim ponies and derived so much pleasure from them. To walk with him amongst them, made you realise that the feeling was mutual.
He bred, judged and showed ponies for many years, hitting the high spots with his purchase Bengad Daisy. Reg bred a Cuddy qualifier in Rhydgwillim Cockatoo and was a staunch supporter of all his local shows.
It was a sight to be seen when his show team were all tied up to his trailer, stood quietly as he worked his way deftly through them putting the final touches in place to prepare them for the ring.
A true enthusiast; Reg was also an accomplished dancer and much in demand as a dance partner.
He joined the Society in 1956 and was awarded an Honorary life membership in recognition of his achievements and support for the breed.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
