‘The Welsh Pony and Cob Society would like to clarify that following further research the aim of providing the membership with a choice of Microchip applicators and to enable discounts on multiple purchases, the use of chips purchased from the Society is recommended rather than mandatory. The enabling of quick searching of the database by standardisation of the microchip number is outweighed by the desire to offer choices to the membership

  To avoid confusion, it is the Society’s aim from January; once the current stocks are sold, to offer a variety of microchips and applicators at competitive prices. The income from these sales will in turn benefit the Society and its members.

Members are reminded that is illegal for anyone other than a Veterinary Surgeon to implant a microchip in an equine.
