Funeral Arrangements for Dr Wynne Davies MBE, FRAgS.

The Society has just received the updated arrangements for the funeral from the family.

There will be a Funeral Service at St David’s Church, Miskin, on Tuesday 21st December 2021 at 11.00am for the friends and family of Dr Wynne Davies.

It is planned to also live stream the service for those who would prefer not to attend in person. Details of this will follow shortly.

The family are keen to ensure as many people as possible can celebrate the life of Dr Wynne, however, because of COVID restrictions it is not possible to have a reception after the service but instead we plan to hold a CELEBRATORY COMMEMORATIVE/ MEMORIAL SERVICE NEXT YEAR when hopefully COVID restrictions will be fewer and the weather will make it easier for many more people to gather in a safe, socially distanced environment.

Should you wish to attend the service at St David’s Church you must follow the Welsh Government guidelines which are laid out below and are correct as of 11th December. Please bear in mind that further announcements are expected on Friday 17th December which might change what is permissible.  There is a limit of 100 people in the Church.

Parking in Miskin is also at a premium, please park responsibly.

Welsh Government CORONAVIRUS – COVID19 Guidance:

GUIDANCE ON CONDUCTING FUNERALS (as of December 11th, further announcement possible on Friday 17th December)

Current status:  Alert Level Zero

The Welsh Government has kept a small but significant number of legal requirements to help reduce the spread of the virus and help protect the most vulnerable.

  1. Take reasonable measures to minimise exposure to, and the spread of coronavirus.
  2. Adults and children over 12 must wear face-coverings in church. It will be noted that social distancing is no longer a legal requirement. Face Coverings must be worn even during the singing.
  3. Test, Trace and Protect. People are urged to take lateral flow testsbefore going out to social gatherings.

Keep yourself safe, Keep Wales safe.  The last thing the family want is for this gathering to spread COVID 19 prior to Christmas.
