Derogation Day 2022

The Annual WPCS and Hill Pony Improvement Societies Feral foal inspection will take place at Brecon Market on Saturday December the 3rd at 10.30am

Foals from the Improvement Societies are presented for inspection by the Premium Judges. Those considered to be of breed standard are awarded premiums. There are 23 premiums in total that can be awarded, made up of 20 fillies and 3 colts.

8 of the best foals are then selected to be DNA profiled – this is paid for by the Presidents fund donated by Mrs Betty French and Mrs Mary Redvers. Hair samples are harvested on the day by a Vet and the results lodged when received from the laboratory with the WPCS.

Breeders can also present their four-year-old animals who previously received premiums for inspection.

The Society would like to thank McCartneys for the use of the market and welcome interested viewers to attend to see the foal inspection.
