The Society shares the sad news of the passing of Jean Higgins, a very talented breeder of Welsh Mountain ponies. Jean and her husband the Late Jim Higgins were based in West Drayton, Middlesex. Jean joined the Society in 1978 establishing the Churchwood prefix. Her Churchwood Promise winning the Royal Welsh and taking Supreme honours at the Ponies UK Summer Championships. Promise was a much-admired mare originating from the Springbourne ‘P’ family, and her son Churchwood Prophet had an influence at Leafycroft, Criccieth, Kallistalodge, Hengwys and Halnaker studs.

Jean’s funeral will take place at 1.15pm on Thursday the 16th of June at the Breakspear Crematorium HA4 7SJ, when all are welcome to attend.

The Society extends its sympathy to her daughter Julie, grand-daughter Carly and all her family and friends.
