It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Mr Arwyn Hughes of the Cefncoch Stud on Monday 13th January. Arwyn was a well known character in the Cob world and was a familiar face at the shows and sales. He was a respected judge and he was extremely proud and honoured to judge the Welsh Cobs at the Royal Welsh in 2016. The Cefncoch Stud was one of the oldest studs in Wales and the family were renowned for their stallions including the famous Pentre Eiddwen Comet. Arwyn was very proud of this history and how other studs had benefited from the Cefncoch bloodlines. He was a long-time member of Severn Valley WPCA, supporting everything. Arwyn was Awarded life membership at the WPCS AGM. He made so many friends and will never be forgotten, Cysga’n dawel fy Hen gyfaill.
A memorial service will be held in memory of Arwyn Hughes at Capel Carmel Llanilar Chapel on 8th March at 2pm.
