WPCS EXPANDS ITS PROVISION FOR, AND PROMOTION OF GELDINGS
The Society is delighted to announce a new gelding promotion scheme to further enhance the profile of all geldings shown.
A new initiative with a new sponsor for Senior In hand geldings is launched today. The Trevallion Senior Gelding scheme will also offer free championship rosettes to affiliated shows to promote in hand senior gelding classes, mirroring the Sarum Investments Ltd Junior in hand gelding scheme.
Sponsor Dean Smith on behalf of the Trevallion stud noted “We are so pleased as a family to be sponsoring the Senior gelding scheme. We believe geldings are such a valuable asset to our Welsh breeds, every colt born isn’t destined to become a stallion and not everyone has facilities to keep a stallion, but this shouldn’t mean they can’t go on to have great careers in the show ring and be recognised for their achievements. We firmly believe more should be done to promote the gelding of our Welsh sections and to show appreciation of them in all spheres of the showing world.
The Young Gelding points scheme originated by the kind sponsorship of the Millcroft stud also continues with the much-valued support of Sarum Investments Ltd. This scheme is aimed at all junior WPCS registered geldings 3 and under and offers free championship rosettes to affiliated shows. The Scheme also sees gelding accruing points based on their placing at shows culminating in the awarding of the Sarum Investments Ltd National in hand Junior Gelding Champion at the Society’s annual Awards night and President’ dinner to be held on the 11th of March. The Society Office administers the points scheme from its online database, following the receipt of results from the affiliated shows.
The Society would like to thank both Sarum Investments Ltd and the Trevallion stud for their generous support of the Welsh pony, Cob and Part-bred gelding.
