WELSH COME OUT ON TOP AGAINST ALL BREEDS

At the recent UK National Championship show held at Arena UK in Lincoln, the Welsh section A stallion Springbourne Capricorn took on all comers to win the prestigious £1,000 Brookes Family Supreme in hand award for exhibitors Liz and Mark Kilbey of the Idyllic stud. Bred by the Springbourne stud near Newbury and now owned by Gerrit Van Beek from the Singels stud in the Netherlands, the eleven-year-old stallion beat 24 other Champions. Capricorn has also been reserve for the Cuddy now Price family Supreme Horse or Pony of the Year HOYS qualifier on no less than four occasions!

Capricorn is by Cascob Red Kite and out of the Springbourne Caraway daughter Springbourne Corona tracing back to the prolific Belvoir Columbine.

In reserve was the Welsh Part bred stallion Rotherwood Jubilee Diamond owned by Jane Laffey and bred by Mrs Elizabeth Mansfield Parnell. He has also since been reserve for the Price family qualifier at the recent Towerlands show held at Stoneleigh. Jubilee Diamond was ably shown by Shane Rogers and is by Rotherwood Just a peep out of Rotherwood Quickstep by Cusop Dimension.

Jubilee Diamond has three of the most famous matriarchs in his family, Rotherwood Peep Show, Trellech Giselle and Cusop Delilah.
