PSSM 1 and PSSM 2

The Society would like to draw the attention of its members to a paper from leading experts in the study of PSSM1 and PSSM2, prepared at the request of the WPCS.

We are indebted to Professor Richard Piercy and his team from the Royal Veterinary College Comparative Neuromuscular Diseases Laboratory for their guidance on this topic, which is fully endorsed by the Society’s Honorary Veterinary Officer. Please follow this link to read the paper:

https://wpcs.uk.com/downloads/  in the Education and Welfare column.

Professor Richard Piercy will address the 2022 BEVA Congress, Liverpool in September on ‘Clinicopathological assessments and muscle biopsy in horses with neuromuscular disease’ and ‘Challenges in diagnosing atypical myopathy’
