Mrs Val Robinson – Tyreos

Mrs Val Robinson – Tyreos
The Society is saddened to share the news of Mrs Val Robinson’s passing.
Originally from the Bristol area and a member of the Society since 1965, she moved to Usk in Gwent, where she and her devoted husband Rob established their Tyreos stud. Tyreos translates as ‘House of the Nightingale’ and from here they bred many illustrious Champion Section C’s and D’s.
She was an accomplished rider winning the Royal Welsh twice and Northleach four times in succession on Llanarth Darnel.
As a judge she served the Society and its members for many years officiating both in hand and ridden classes, on the Section C and D panels. A high point of her judging was at the Royal Welsh Show in 2018 when she placed Tyrllawn Princess Teegan Champion of the Section C’s.
To be invited to stand in judgement of other’s stock at Llanelwedd is a great honour, and she was ably qualified for such a task having bred Royal Welsh Champion C’s, Tyreos Lowri winning in 1997 and the dual Champion Tyreos Furietta winner in 1990 and 1998. Latterly Tyreos Aragorn has been winning extensively.
Our sincere sympathies are extended to Rob, their family and friends.
