Jeff Parry – Talponciau

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Jeff Parry of the Talponciau stud.

Jeff and his wife Janice founded the stud in 1989 with the section B’s Chirk Royal Oak a colt, and the mare Rosedale Fairy Story.

Janice enrolled Jeff as a member of the Society in 1989 as a 50th birthday present and this was to become a very important part of his life. He spent many hours reading the Stud books and journals.

Jeff was later elected as a Society Trustee and championed members concerns, serving as Chair of the Education and Welfare committee for a period.

He was passionate about young people and together with Janice sponsored the ‘Young Judges competition’. Many of those young people keeping in touch to this day He was always willing to give advice and guidance to those who asked.

He was also passionate about the Clwyd Welsh Pony and Cob Association serving as their Chairman, notably when they held the Coed Coch open day and was also Superintendent of the light horse section at the Denbigh and Flint show.

Over the past few years sadly Jeff bravely suffered ill health but he never complained.

The Society wishes to extend its sincere condolences to Janice and their family.

The Committal will be held at 2.30pm on the 3rd of December,2021 at Wrexham crematorium. Donations to support a Memorial Fund in Jeff’s memory to train and educate Young Judges; will be gratefully received by the funeral directors J P Turner and Daughters Funeral Services, Bryn hyfryd, Pentir, Bangor, LL57 4UU Tel: 01248 352017
