Mr Cyril Rees of the Erwwastad and Glanllwchwr studs passed away peacefully on 30th May at the Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, aged 88.

Joining the Society in 1990 he kept the Welsh Cob stallion Rhyd-ddu Gwynfor at stud and was very proud of Gwynfor’s achievements in the show ring. At the same Cyril also showed Shire horses with much success.

He was a character in every sense of the word and was always ready to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Held in high esteem by all who knew him, Cyril was a deacon at Ebenezer Chapel, in Llanedi.

The Society extends its sympathy to his sister in law Verona, and nieces and nephews Enid, Aled and Emyr.
