Millcroft Gelding Awards

These rosettes are available to Show Societies free of charge, and are generously sponsored by the Millcroft Stud. It is hoped that they will encourage the showing of geldings in-hand, therefore creating a market for the often unwanted colt foal and enabling the creation of a network of potential performance prospects to represent the best Native breed in the World at the highest level.

Why not stage a specific “Gelding, 3yrs and under” Class for each Section to encourage young gelding exhibitors even more, giving them a greater chance of winning a red rosette? The winners of these classes, together with the highest placed gelding from your Barren Mare/Gelding Class can then go forward to compete for these free Millcroft rosettes.

Please state in your show schedules:
Welsh Pony & Cob Gelding Incentive Scheme – Overall Gelding Champion and Reserve, to be competed for by the highest placed geldings from each appropriate class within Sections A, B, C & D, generously sponsored by the Millcroft Stud.

John and Maggie Carter of Millcroft Stud have been long time campaigners for the development of gelding classes within shows. Anxious about the over production of colt foals they have sponsored the Millcroft Gelding Scheme for several years.
