WPCS Young Ambassador 2017-18

The Welsh Pony and Cob Society is pleased to announce Mr Euros Llyr Morgan of Swansea as its Young Ambassador for 2017 to 2018.

Euros is a member of the third generation of the Cwmtawe Stud established by John Morgan in 1975.  Euros keeps around 30 of his own mountain ponies, based around the old Revel and Dyfed lines, and is extremely passionate about the hill type of ponies.  He is a member of the Brecon and Borders Welsh Pony and Cob Breeders Association and is a regular contributor to the Hill Pony Improvement Magazine.

Ed Gummery, Chair of the Selection Panel, said: "I was encouraged by the quality of the candidates that came forward to be considered for Young Ambassador as it is an important role to encourage events and to provide a link between the Society and young people through-out the UK.   Euros was an outstanding candidate and we are sure that his energy and passion for the Welsh Breed will be a great example to our young people”.

Upon hearing that he had been selected Euros said:  “I am very grateful for the opportunity and the honour to be selected as Young Ambassador of The Welsh Pony and Cob Society. The Welsh breeds have been a key part of my upbringing and of my development as an individual. I look forward to the challenge of spreading my passion for the Welsh breeds and for the Society to the young people of the UK and beyond.”

Euros will officially take up his appointment at the AGM in Swindon on Saturday the 1st of April and is currently being mentored by the outgoing Young Ambassador Eleri Evans.
