Society service fees remain the same

Welcome news for all members of The Welsh Pony and Cob Society (WPCS) is that fees for the society’s range of services and memberships will be pegged at 2015 prices until 2017.

The decision not to raise fees was suggested by staff of the charity – arguably the largest of Britain’s native breed societies – and endorsed by trustees at a meeting on 14th July, 2015.

Staff at the 114-year-old society – which has kept many prices at the same level since 2001 – compared the fees charged by similar organisations, and despite being roughly equal to or lower to others’, recommended that the charity absorb increased costs itself.

Said Roo Johnstone, Secretary of the WPCS, “These are still rather tough times for many people in the equine world.

“Trustees and I are looking at ways of not only improving service and services, but also the member benefits. These cannot be quick results, and therefore one of the best ways to show our commitment to members is to keep prices down.”
