2012 NPS/Fodder Solutions Supreme Dressage Championship & International Team Challenge

2012 NPS/FODDER SOLUTIONS SUPREME DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIP & INTERNATIONAL TEAM CHALLENGE

Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Buckingham

14 & 15th April 2012

With the Olympic year in mind, the NPS Dressage Working Group have opened their competition to encourage pony enthusiasts who enjoy competing on a British breed of pony and their registered part-breds to come out and qualify over the winter.

Integrated into 2012 NPS/Fodder Solutions Supreme Dressage Championship will be a Team competition open to the teams of four ponies representing Breeds, Societies, NPS and BSPS Areas, Pony Club Branches, Riding Clubs, Dressage groups, etc.

Qualifiers for this very friendly match are listed on the NPS website www.nationalponysociety.org.uk Competitions->Dressage section and also on the popular NPS Dressage Working Group Facebook page. Any Centre or organisation wishing to host a qualifier can apply to do so by contacting angela.kember@btinternet.com . There is no affiliation fee.

Tests used at qualifiers are British Dressage Preliminary Test 14 and Novice Test 28. These are changed for the Final. On offer each day will be an experimental Elementary class for those looking to progress.

The competition for registered animals will follow the usual format over two days with section finals as follows:

Animals registered in the British Riding Pony Stud Book including Hacks and Riding Horses

Part Bred Nativeany height

Part Bred Arabnot exceeding 158cm and British Sports Ponies

Native breedsnot exc. 138cm

Native breedsexc.138cm

Juniors- aged 13 - 18 on 01/01/2011

Minis - aged 12 & under on 01/01/2011

Winners of each section finalwill be required to take part in the Supreme Freestyle to Music for the beautiful Sylvie Noel Designs Dressage Performance trophy and the finest Australian floral garland sashes presented in the UK

Included in the weekend are HOYS style presentations with Best of Breed awards, special acknowledgement of riders aged 45+ and Easter surprises for all Mini contestants!

In a bid to generate global friendship a group of fourteen top young riders representing the Riding Pony Stud Book of Australia will travel to the UK for a home stay with some wonderful pony families. The visitors will compete on loaned/shared ponies in the Team competition. These young people are extremely excited about their trip and are busy raising funds by selling sweets and cakes at shows! They have been supplied with uniforms and are thrilled to have the opportunity to come to the UK, and have the chance to compete at Addington Manor near Buckingham. They have all represented Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia at State level at dressage as well as being top show jockeys.

A stallion parade is also planned along with a narrated Native Breeds Display. Application forms for the stallion parade can be obtained from the Secretary. All stallions must be registered in their appropriate stud book.
