Welsh Section C Kallistalodge The Patriot completes historical Via Francigena pilgrimage
Ann Bishop has driven her Welsh Section C gelding, Kallistalodge The Patriot (Samson) and two other ponies, along the historical pilgrimage route of the Via Francigena, a route which has been travelled since the fourth century.
They travelled from Reims in north east France down through Burgundy, passing Chalons en Champagne, Langres, Grenoble, Col de Montgenerve through to Bardonecchia in Italy and finally reaching Rome, often travelling along minor roads along the way. They averaged 40-60km each day.
This pilgrimage is to raise funds to support and care for family/friends who have become carers for those with Dementia.
