HOYS Cuddy Championships Final 2011
The Cuddy Championship Final is the culmination of twenty two qualifying rounds around the season’s county shows and sets out to find the supreme in hand light horse and is without question the ultimate In Hand Showing Championship.
By taking the 2011 title, the Welsh section C mare Parvadean Delight earned herself a place, not only in her breed’s history, but also Horse of the Year Show’s Hall of Fame by becoming the first representative of her breed to take the prestigious final since it was started back in 1965.
The fifteen year old Delight was bred by Jack Davis and shown on the night by his son Justin for owner Ceri Fell. Not only was the mare the unanimous choice of the judges but also that of the audience which erupted in approval when she was called forward to receive her award. However she had to share the limelight with her foal which charmed the crowds with its presence, charm and movement and is certainly one to watch in the future.
Runner up to Parvadean Delight in the pony section of the competition was the Welsh part –bred seven year old stallion, Stanley Grange Cocksure shown by David Robertson for the Stanley Grange team.
