Welsh Success at Dressage Ireland National Winter Finals

11 year old Alana Cazabon Sullivan from Cleggan Beach Riding Centre in Connemara had huge success at the Dressage Ireland National Winter Finals and Cavan Festival 29-30thApril 2011, with her 128cm Welsh Section C pony Joyton Regal Princess (113086)

Dam: Joyton Lady Carys (95665).  

Amber (stable name) was bought at Builth Wells by Alana’s Grandmother Judy Cazabon as a 3 yr old.  She was lightly broken at 4 and as her movement was so sweet it was decided to turn her out until a suitable rider came along.

Alana has been riding Amber for the last two years under the guidance of her Mum, Siobhan who is also a successful dressage rider.  Alana and Amber won the Kingsland Preliminary Cat.1 Championship out of a class of 24 on Saturday, and the Cavan Festival Preliminary Cat. 1 Championship on Sunday out of a class of 36.

Alana  was also 3rd in both Championships with her Connemara Pony Taibshe na Mara who also won the Connemara Pony Breeders Society prize for the highest placed Connemara Pony in the Championships.   In total they brought home 17 rosettes including two Hickstead Qualifiers. Her judges over the weekend included Clive Halsall UK, Olivier Smeets and Marc Urban Belgium,  Mary Robins New Zealand and Angelene Nicholson Ireland.
