WPCS President 2015-16 Dai Harris
Dear Members and Friends
I would like to thank you all most sincerely for the support and friendship that was extended to me during my Presidential year, in particular to those that attended my Dinner Dance at the AGM in the Vale earlier this month. I thoroughly enjoyed myself on the Friday and Saturday evenings, as I hope you all did as well. The talent of our young people that took part in the Friday evening’s young people spectacular was fantastic and it pleases me to know that with so much talent in the youth of our Society, the Society will be in safe hands for generations to come. Congratulations to Gareth Watkins and the Young People’s Committee for all the work they put into the evening and a big thank you to the young people for the support they extended to me throughout my time as President.
The Dinner Dance on Saturday was the pinnacle of my Presidential year. It was a celebration that marked the end of a wonderful year for me as President, with new friends and old gathered together in a non-competitive, social environment. It is fair to say we danced the night away. More importantly however, it gives me great pleasure to announce that due to the great generosity of those present and the people who kindly donated items for auction, a sum of £8,000 was raised for my nominated charity, the British Heart Foundation. Thank you all for digging deep and supporting this worthwhile charity without which I might not have been here today.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone for supporting me during my term of office as WPCS President and in particular to those that attended my Dinner Dance at the Vale. I would like to wish Mrs Betty French and all future Presidents the same support, enjoyment and camaraderie that I had the pleasure of encountering during my term of office. It was truly an honour and a privilege to be President of this great Society. Diolch o galon i bawb.
