Brightwells Spring Sale 2017

The Royal Welsh showground provided the setting for the WPCS Spring Sale of all sections of the stud book on Saturday 13th May, 2017 with Brightwells, our long standing official auctioneers reporting average prices being their highest since 2009. Mr Terry Court, making a guest appearance, and introduced as such, but he did of course take part during the proceedings.

The day started with our WPCS young ambassador, Euros Llyr Morgan, meeting up with young members of our society at the WPCS pavilion for breakfast before the sale commenced at 11.30.

With average prices for the Section A and B’s of £398.00 of 25 animals sold, The C’s and D’s averaged £808 for 23 sold, whilst the Welsh Part Breds and Geldings average price was £778 , with 24 sold. With 8 ponies sold from the broken to ride and drive (5 sadly unsold) these averaged out at a massive £1,344.

Top price of the sale title at £2,400 went to the Section D bay mare, Cruglwyd Esyllt who has been sold to Germany.

Joint top price Section A was the seventeen year old gelding, Colne Tarmarind and seven year old mare, Elcon Little Miss Vain with £700 each.

Top price Section B was ten year old mare, Kalevan Havana was sold for £1,000.

The top priced Section Cs were the three year old colt, Abergavenny K O and the four year old gelding, Tydi Mayhem at £1,400 each.

Welsh Part Bred top price was the four year old filly, Bronwen Goch at £2,050.
