AGM 2017 Special Resolutions
The Council of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society will be presenting two special resolutions to the membership in the forthcoming mailing to the membership.
The first resolution is to make improvements to the articles of association that the Council believes will improve two specific articles, 22 and 25, and also result in improvement in good practice relating to equal opportunities and diversity. Details of this resolution will be included in the AGM agenda enclosed in the mailing.
In the second resolution the Council is asking the membership to contribute an additional £5.00 per year from the 1st of January 2018.
The past two years have seen a decline in income generated from two key income streams, membership subscriptions and the Passport Issuing Office, and a gradual, steady increase in costs. The Council has recently reduced costs in key areas and is committed to reviewing and reducing costs during 2017 and 2018. However there is a steady and inevitable rise in overheads and the increasing costs of developing and improving the Societies services in the digital age. With capital investment funded by the reserves of the Society, the Council is asking members to help balance the day to day operational budget and to ensure that the current level of services can be maintained and improved. It has been several years since the basic cost of individual membership was increased and the Council feels that now is the time to ask for your assistance and support.
The Council requests that all members use their votes and recommends members vote to accept both of these special resolutions.
If anyone still needs to renew their membership for 2017, at the existing price of £35.50 (£30.50 if by direct debit) this can be done online or telephone 01570 471754.
