The Chair and Principal Officer had met with Elin Jones, Minister for Rural Affairs, and representatives from the Welsh Assembly Government on the 31stMarch to raise the issue of the PIO status, welfare concerns and other relevant issues.  It was reported that a positive discussion had taken place, however further negotiations are on hold until after the elections in May.

Mr Steve Everitt had represented the Society at various committees in relation to the proposed PIO changes and provided a report to Council on developments.  Council discussed the matter in detail and will be communicating with members and the national press in the near future.

The criteria for the selection of judges for the Hill Premiums and the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show were discussed and it was decided to publish the selection procedure for both on the Society Website, for the information of members.
